The Butchery Ltd is looking for someone great to join our very small team. An interest in meat provenance and cooking is a must.
Duties will include Customer Service, putting on a counter, adhering to all HACCP guidelines, sausage making, bacon curing, butchering of whole carcasses of beef, veal, lamb, pork and chickens. Packing and labeling wholesale and online orders. Cleaning! Occasionally assisting in butchery classes and cooked product production as required.
You will be enthusiastic, willing to learn, hardworking, follow instructions well, tidy and organised, passionate about the trade, have great attention to detail, be proud of a job well done and have impeccable, friendly customer service skills.
An opportunity for someone to join a growing business doing things a little differently. If you are interested in learning something new and have some experience in European seam butchery, American, English and Australian cuts this might be the job for you. Must be happy to follow our specific requirements for cutting to utilise the whole carcass.
The Butchery Ltd sources naturally reared native breed animals directly from small farmers, only buying whole carcasses.
Bad taste in jokes, butchers back slang and loving food, beer, rum and babies a definite advantage
Happy to train a junior butcher who has good knife skills and dedication to learn.
Working 5 days a week including some Saturdays and Sundays with extra hours required at Christmas and Easter.
Hrly rate negotiable depending on experience with Meat Allowance and Christmas Bonus.
The job will be split between our two premises in South East London, 5mins from Bermondsey Tube and 5 mins from Forest Hill Station.
